The Chicago Cubs have only five games remaining on their 2022 season, which means the social media highlight videos of the final games are getting a bit stale knowing the Cubs are not making the Postseason. So yesterday the organization released one of the better drone videos every Cubs fan should check out.
Over the last few years, drones have become a popular way to capture a birds-eye view of a sporting event, concert or city skyline. I’ve seen some great drone videos over the last few months and this viral Chicago Cubs drone video was worthy of a blog.
The video starts out following a CTA train rolling past iconic Wrigley Field. The drone continues around the stadium capturing unique sights and sounds of Murphy’s Bleachers, the scoreboard, and Gallagher Way. Since the Cubs will not be making the 2022 Postseason, this viral drone video was a way to shout out the Cubs fanbase. It should help get Cubs fans excited about the 2023 season.
The Cubs are poised to enter 2023 with a pretty good roster that will challenge the NL Central teams for the top spot. Who knows, they may even make a long postseason run.
The key will be keeping Wilson Contreras, Ian Happ, and Seiya Suzuki on the roster, while seeing developments from players like Christopher Morel and Brennen Davis. In addition, they will need to add a notable veteran player that can help lead the 2023 deep into the playoffs.
Basically, the Ricketts family must open their wallets for once.
How long before these drone videos become too widespread they become boring? Perhaps you did or didn’t enjoy this video? I would welcome your thoughts in comments section below.
If you liked this drone video, be sure to check out this one from the Masters golf tournament published earlier this year.
