The big golf news out yesterday on Twitter wasn’t about the PGA Tour players meeting or the LIV Golf Tour, it was about the G.O.A.T. returning to the cover of PGA Tour 2K. Tiger Woods makes his return to the popular video game that once featured his namesake in PGA Tour 2K23.
The last time Tiger Woods was featured on the cover was in 2013 when he and Arnold Palmer shared the cover of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 (released in 2013). He first began working closely with EA Sports in 1998. From that point through 2013, he graced the cover of every Tiger Woods PGA Tour game until Rory Mcllroy took his spot for the 2015 version of the game.
Justin Thomas was the last PGA Tour player to be featured on PGA Tour 2K21 and he jokingly responded to Tiger’s Twitter post:
It is safe to say that golf fans will be looking forward to this upcoming game. It will offer a break from the PGA Tour/LIV Golf drama unfolding in the media & court system.
More updates on the upcoming PGA Tour 2K23 game are anticipated on August 22nd. Pre-orders for this typically realistic game will likely soon follow after that at your favorite gaming stores (e.g. GameStop, Best Buy, Walmart).
